I left my appointment not only overwhelmed but panicked. My appointment started ok yet soon felt like a contact lense sales pitch. The consultation seemed like all was ok and we even discussed laser eye surgery whilst the back of my eye was being looked at and he said theres no reason i cant wear lenses or have laser. Until he looked at my images where i was told there was a small area of bleeding on my left eye and that i need to stay at one optician - boots need to stop sending out free eye test vouchers then if you feel people should not change. At this point i was very unclear what it was or what it meant. My pressures were then done, repeatedly. I became very anxious and was told my readings were high but not what they were. It was suggested i needed a specialist test - goldmans? and a renewed sight test though if i came back for a contact lense appointment then he could look at my eye again. I was given a leaflet about glucoma and told i would get a call on saturday to book for more tests. I will not be taking this call. Panicked i left and went to straight to my family optician who confirmed that i do have a tiny burst blood vessle in my eye and that theres absoloutly no indication of glucoma. My pressures were 13 and 14. I queried this and he said theres no way it could have been that much higher a hour and a half earlier to be told they were high by any means. I am seeing him in 6 weeks time to check its reolved however i do not have high blood pressure and recently had a fasting glucose test so am sure i am also not diabetic. This information was also given to your staff member. I feel like boots optician mislead me, lured me in with a free sight test to then make money from me and caused me a great deal of anxiety and distress. I also then had to pay my optician and waste the majority of my day off trying to find out what was going on. I will never, ever use your opticians again and will actively discourage others too. In fact, boots as a brand has gone down in my estimations

Sam and Mark and the girls behind the desk were all extremely friendly and helped in anyway possible. It made my experience a very pleasant one.
